It has become known when Ukraine will receive Patriot funded by Germany.

The first Patriot system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which Germany will pay for, is still under construction. The complex is likely to be ready in approximately 6-8 months.

This is reported by the German publication Bild.

It is noted that this concerns the Patriot that Switzerland was supposed to receive, but it has been pushed back in the queue for the sake of Ukraine. The costs for it will be covered by Germany.

'Switzerland is moving further down the waiting list for the Patriot systems. The first unit will be delivered not to Bern but to Ukraine, and Germany will pay for it. However, this system is still being produced by the American defense company Raytheon and is expected to be ready no earlier than in six to eight months,' the Bild material states.

It is noted that Germany is considering the possibility of transferring another Patriot unit from the Bundeswehr's reserves to Ukraine, replacing it later with a new one from the American company Raytheon. But its production and delivery 'will take years.'

As sources from the German government circles note, the initial plan was for the USA to supply Ukraine with weapons from its own stockpiles. Germany was supposed to cover the costs of pre-ordering.

However, US President Donald Trump insisted that the Pentagon 'cannot give away any of its air defense assets', and Europe has to find air defense systems from its own reserves.

In the meantime, as the publication writes, Europe lacks air defense assets, and negotiations about who can help Ukraine have been ongoing for several days.

According to Bild, three Patriot air defense systems are currently being updated and are not ready for use yet, another one is needed for military training.

Recall that recently in Berlin, the information voiced by Trump about the alleged start of Patriot supplies from Germany to Ukraine was refuted.

Earlier, the head of the White House confirmed that Ukraine would receive Patriots from the USA — it concerns 17 systems.

The message from Bild about the construction of the first Patriot system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine funded by Germany indicates a rapid development of the situation in the field of security provision in Ukraine and Europe. Despite the difficulties in supply and production, the important fact is the support of allies and the plans of other countries to supply military equipment and technology to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
