In the Czech Republic, the number of Ukrainian refugees who are in the country and working is significantly increasing. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, currently, nearly 159,000 Ukrainian refugees are working in the country, which is more than double compared to two years ago. The revenue from their work in the first quarter exceeded 3 billion crowns, surpassing the costs of social assistance.
Currently, only 86,000 refugees receive social assistance, which is 63,000 fewer than before. According to experts and the minister, Ukrainian refugees play an important role in the economy of the Czech Republic, ensuring the functioning of various sectors such as construction, agriculture, and public catering. The country highly values their contribution, and their impact on the economy is seen as significant and diverse. This positive influence of Ukrainian refugees on the economy of the Czech Republic is recognized by both the minister and experts in the field.
