Howitzers from the Czech Republic
A total of 2.4 million euros will be spent on six new D-30 howitzers. These are towed howitzers that were developed back in the Soviet Union and are currently used in Ukraine.
The fundraiser was initiated by Martin Ondracek. One of the howitzers was named Joseph in honor of a member of the Resistance group 'Three Kings'. Other howitzers were named after participants in the assassination attempt on Heydrich, as well as in honor of Czech pilot Karel Kuttelwascher, who participated in World War II with the Royal Air Force.
The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, called on Western countries to engage in direct negotiations with the Russian Federation, indicating the need to ensure not only peace in Ukraine but also security on the continent.
The Czech Foreign Minister, Jan Lipavský, believes that pressure on Russia must be increased to force it to end the war.
Ukraine will receive howitzers from the Czech Republic thanks to the fundraising efforts of activists. This will serve not only as a symbolic support but also improve the country's defense capabilities in the face of aggression. However, the situation in Ukraine remains tense, requiring active help and support from the international community.
