The debts of "Guaranteed Buyer" will worsen the start of green auctions in Ukraine – Investors.

Debts of SE "Guaranteed Buyer" to investors in green energy significantly reduce investors' interest in participating in green auctions. This was stated by Anastasia Vereshchinskaya, director of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency, noting that the auctions were supposed to help attract more investors to the construction of green energy.
The counterparty of investors in the event of winning these auctions will again be the company that owes them. It is "Guaranteed Buyer", - said Vereshchinskaya.
According to her, investors do not believe that support through the auction mechanism will ensure 100% settlements of "Harpok" with them.
"That's why, of course, for existing investors – it's not the most exciting story. Because they will have to deal with "Guaranteed Buyer" again," she added.
"Everyone understands that this will come from the "Ukrenergo" transmission tariff. It is in the transmission tariff that the source of funding for renewable energy support is embedded. From there, the green tariff was paid, and from there, expenses for these auctions will potentially be covered," explained Vereshchinskaya.
The director of the EUEA emphasized that debts in the electricity market are a systemic problem.
As reported, the debt of SE "Guaranteed Buyer" to RES amounts to approximately 35.8 billion UAH.
According to investors, the state should prioritize the development of green energy in Ukraine with specific decisions and actions that will stimulate investors to invest in this sector, build new power plants, and reduce capacity deficits in Ukraine's energy system.
