Spiritual Support or Propaganda? Ukrainian Refugees in Lithuania Become Victims of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The political and religious confrontation continues in Lithuania, where the Moscow Patriarchate is trying to protect its position by presenting itself as the 'Lithuanian Orthodox Church'. However, in reality, this structure does not exist in the official register. This information was provided by the priest of the Constantinople Patriarchate in Lithuania, Volodymyr Selyavko.
Ukrainian refugees seeking spiritual support turn to the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate, discovering their true affiliation.
The Moscow Patriarchate actively conceals its attachment to Moscow... - emphasizes Father Volodymyr.
This year, the Vilnius Lithuanian Orthodox Diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate received almost €73,000 in state funding, while the Constantinople Exarchate received only €18,500. This change is attributed to the assessment of the number of believers, which, according to Father Volodymyr, was used for manipulation. The actual number of active parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate does not exceed 3,000.
The Church of the Constantinople Patriarchate calls not only to consider quantitative criteria but also qualitative ones in the allocation of funds. The Moscow Patriarchate uses its presence in Lithuania as a political tool, managing from the Kremlin.
If we call such a person our father, our leader, then we are with him. This is completely normal... In this case - a moral violation. A war crime,' notes Selyavko.
This spiritual schism has its moral and historical foundation, similar to family and community separations. The priest explains its similarity to the revolutionary events in Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Lithuania has withdrawn from the international convention on the prohibition of cluster munitions due to their use by Russia. The country considers it important to use all available means to deter a potential aggressor.
