Blackout may occur after a missile strike on Ukrainian NPPs
Energy expert Yuriy Korolchuk noted that in case of an attack on the distribution facilities of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, a complete blackout may occur. Infrastructure damage, even minor, can lead to the shutdown of plants, and it will take from one to two weeks to restore their operation. During this period, electricity supply will be carried out on a strict schedule, with priority given to important infrastructure objects. According to the expert, without the operation of NPPs, it will be difficult to provide all consumers with electricity, which can cause a collapse in the energy system.
