Europe must seek alternatives to American weapons - Macron.

Macron calls on EU countries to invest in the development of defense industry
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that European Union countries should increase investments in the development of their own defense industry, rather than just purchasing American weapons. He emphasized that the taxpayer money spent on military budgets should be directed not only towards the procurement of American weapons.
'When we talk about 'let's invest more in our armies', we often mean 'buy more American weapons'', - said Macron.
Macron stressed that EU countries must work together to create a European defense industry and make more investments in European development of military technology. He noted that there are 47 different industrial platforms for the naval sector in the EU, while in the US there are only six. Therefore, Macron called for an increase in joint European weapon development.
It is worth noting that France, with its large defense base, often criticizes allies for favoring American weapons while ignoring European alternatives.
Macron also emphasized that the French army is the most effective in Europe, but it should not rest on its laurels while the US withdraws its troops.
