The Commander-in-Chief revealed how many soldiers would be discharged in the event of demobilization.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, approximately 350 thousand servicemen may be demobilized in April. This decision was made by the Verkhovna Rada, which amended the law on mobilization, granting the right to discharge after three years of service. According to estimates, about 350 thousand military personnel who have been serving since 2022 will be able to return to civilian life.
We calculated that in April this year, out of the total number of the grouping we had at the front, about 350 thousand would be discharged at once
The Ministry of Defense has already developed a new rotation mechanism at the front, which provides for several months of rest after 90 days of continuous service and participation in combat operations.
Although the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Ivan Havryliuk, reported that the draft law on demobilization is already ready, its submission will be delayed. Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernohorenko also noted that the ministry is working on a separate bill on demobilization.
It was previously known that the Ministry of Defense plans to complete work on the bill regarding the discharge of servicemen by December 18, 2024.
As of today, Ukraine's mobilization reserve consists of 3.7 million people, and the total number of men aged 25 to 60 is 11.1 million.
Analysis:
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is expected that about 350 thousand servicemen will be discharged in April. This is good news for those who have already served this year. The introduction of a new rotation mechanism at the front, which envisages a period of rest after prolonged service, is also positive. Demobilization and the drafting of the law indicate that the state cares about its defenders. However, the submission of the bill may be delayed, which could cause disappointment among servicemen awaiting discharge.
