Hackers of the GUR attacked over 800 servers in Russia
Over the past four days, hackers from the GUR (Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense) attacked more than 800 servers in Russia. This information was provided by a source in military intelligence, reports rbc.ua.
As a result of these attacks, documents and data stored on the attacked servers were completely destroyed. The servers belonged to military, administrative, and financial institutions that support Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
The loss of data and documentation led to a partial or complete halt in the work of consumers and service providers in various sectors, and will require additional resources to search for and recover data, once again demonstrating to the local population the low level of technical support in Russia
All data on the attacked servers was deleted without the possibility of recovery.
GUR attacks created problems for Russia
These GUR attacks are part of several cyberattacks aimed at Russia. Previously, Ukrainian hackers attacked banks and other financial institutions in Russia. In addition, GUR employees carried out a cyberattack on a Russian nuclear weapons development enterprise, as a result of which Ukraine obtained useful information.
Thus, these GUR attacks not only inflicted damage on Russia but also confirmed the level of technical support in that country.
