Kostiuk and Kichenok are nominated for prestigious annual WTA awards.


Two Ukrainian tennis players - Marta Kostiuk and Lyudmyla Kichenok - have been nominated for the WTA Awards.
Marta Kostiuk is nominated in the 'Most Improved Player' category.
Among Marta's competitors are Americans Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro, as well as Anna Kalinskaya and Diana Schneider, who play under a neutral flag.
Marta is currently the highest-ranked Ukrainian tennis player, holding the 18th position in the WTA ranking.
Lyudmyla Kichenok, along with Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, is also nominated in the doubles category.
Other nominees in this category include Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada) / Erin Routliffe (New Zealand), Anna Danilina (Kazakhstan) / Irina Khromacheva (under neutral flag), Hsieh Su-wei (Taiwan) / Elise Mertens (Belgium), Sara Errani (Italy) / Jasmine Paolini (Italy), and Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) / Taylor Townsend (USA).
It is worth noting that this year, Kichenok and Ostapenko won the US Open and reached the final of the Australian Open in doubles.
