Former Irish army ranger Robert Deegan killed on the front line in Ukraine.

Ukraine has lost another fighter. 29-year-old Robert Deegan, a former Irish army ranger, was killed in battles. According to the Irish Times, he was mortally wounded on the front line last Thursday.
It is unclear whether the Ukrainian military managed to find Deegan's remains. However, several sources from Ireland reported that the work is still ongoing.
The fact that Deegan had no connections with Ukraine before Russia's invasion did not prevent him from being confident that the Russians had to be defeated. The publication writes that he was characterized as a principled person who was always ready to play his role and fight on the side of Ukraine. Even after being wounded two years ago, he always intended to return to the war.
In October 2022, while on duty, Deegan was caught in an explosion and sustained serious injuries. Upon returning to Ireland, he underwent treatment and rehabilitation, but still returned to Ukraine earlier this year.
Deegan was a member of the special unit "Stugna," which participated in complex and dangerous missions. Ukrainian military knew him as a fighter responsible for his team's lives, and while retreating from Russian troops, he died.
11 years ago, Deegan decided to devote his life to the military and joined the Irish army, becoming a ranger in 2017.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also lost Georgian fighter Viktor Kipritidi, who fought shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian military.
