Germany will increase aid to Ukraine instead of supplying Taurus missiles: key statements from Zelensky and Pistorius.


German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a briefing with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv refused to supply long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. In response to a direct question, he stated: 'You asked me whether we are considering this. I answer you – no.' This refusal became final in discussions about the transfer of missiles.
Instead of supplying missiles, Berlin plans to significantly increase financial support for Ukraine. Minister Pistorius announced the intention to provide approximately 9 billion euros in aid this year. Part of this funding will be directed towards financing the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, which was the result of an agreement between Zelensky and Pistorius.
