Export volumes of cargo by rail reached a record level.


From January to November 2024, 77.5 million tons of cargo were transported by rail for export. This is 56.9% more than in the same period last year. This information was reported at a meeting of the Export Office under UZ.
In 11 months of this year, 160.9 million tons of cargo were transported by rail, which is 19.4% more than in the same period of 2023. In particular, 77.5 million tons of cargo were transported for export, exceeding the corresponding figure of last year by 56.9%.
According to the data for the period from January to November, the export volumes were distributed as follows: grain cargoes - 31.4 million tons (41%), iron and manganese ore - 30 million tons (39%), ferrous metals - 4.7 million tons (6%), construction materials - 3.9 million tons (5%).
The increase in the volume of grain cargo transportation compared to last year is 57.2%, which is the highest figure in the last five years. There is also a noticeable increase in ore transportation - 1.8 times. The transportation of ferrous metals has increased by 14.3%, while construction materials have increased by 2.4 times.
Furthermore, it is important to note the record transportation of cement for export. In 11 months, 1.6 million tons of cement were exported, which is the highest figure for the period from 2021 to 2024.
