During a meeting in Rome dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Council and Catholic-Orthodox unity, Pope Leo XIV expressed the Catholic Church's readiness to seek a common date for the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. He noted that a unified celebration could strengthen Christians' missionary work in spreading the faith.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I also expressed support for the idea of uniting Easter celebrations, emphasizing that it would promote unity within the Christian community and help avoid disputes over different celebration dates. The Patriarch believes that unification will help maintain unity among Christians.
