Poland to Strengthen Border Security with Belarus.

Poland is increasing the number of Border Guard employees due to threats from Belarus and Russia
In response to the growing hybrid threats from Belarus and Russia, Poland has decided to increase the number of Border Guard employees. Soon, 1500 new workers will be on duty to secure the most problematic areas. This action is part of the country's defensive strategy, which also includes improving barriers and the effectiveness of detaining illegal migrants, reports RMF24.
Interior Minister Tomasz Semeniak reported that the first 500 additional border guards are expected to join the service later this year, and the remaining thousand will join next year.
Poland has a problematic border with Belarus that is 418 km long, which is also the eastern border of the European Union.
Semeniak also emphasized the importance of the Border Guard and expressed his respect for its employees, as well as the soldiers of the Polish army and the police. 'There are 11,000 people working at the border to ensure our safety,' he noted.
