Died in the hospital due to severe injuries. Let us remember Mykola Derkach.


Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Mykola Derkach.
Mykola Derkach, a serviceman from Ivano-Frankivsk, died in a Dnipro hospital from injuries received on the front line. This was reported by the Kalush City Council.
Mykola Derkach was born on December 20, 1984, in Kalush. He studied at secondary school No. 3 (now Kalush Lyceum No. 3). At the age of 13, he became a half-orphan as his father died prematurely.
After finishing the ninth grade, he entered a vocational school to train as a carpenter. In 2003-2004, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after which he worked various jobs and went abroad for work.
During the war, he was a sniper in the first mechanized platoon of the mechanized company.
Mykola Derkach died in a hospital in Dnipro on November 24, 2024, as a result of injuries sustained from military actions, explosions, and shrapnel. He did not live to see his 40th birthday by less than a month.
«In the memory of his relatives, friends, and comrades, Mykola Derkach will be remembered as a kind, caring, energetic, cheerful, and loyal son of his homeland,» the message reads.
The hero was buried at the Glory Alley of the city cemetery in Kalush.
Honoring the memory of fallen Ukrainians

We remember those who were killed by Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, everyone who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of enemy troop attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
