Russia has announced its readiness for the third round of negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey. It is noted that there are no changes in the negotiation group from Moscow's side.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov, Russian media reports.
'There are no changes in the negotiation group from the Russian side. You know that we advocate for the third round. As soon as we have a final understanding of the dates, we will inform you', said Peskov.
He also added that 'a lot of diplomatic work is required' to bring the positions of the parties closer towards a peaceful settlement.
The spokesman for Putin also commented on the draft memoranda exchanged by the parties. According to him, they are 'still diametrically opposed.'
Recall that on July 18, during a phone call, Erdogan discussed with Putin the third round of peace negotiations. Turkey is ready to continue being a mediator and to host the parties in Istanbul as soon as they agree on the relevant dates.
At the same Time, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his views on the prospect of a personal meeting with Putin. He emphasized that such a meeting is only possible under clear agreed conditions.
