Russia has amassed 50,000 troops in the Sumy region, surpassing Ukrainian forces by three times, - WSJ.

Emergency situation at the front near Sumy
Russian troops are very close to the city of Sumy and threaten the region with their large number of 50,000 soldiers. This creates difficult conditions for the Ukrainian forces, which have long been in a numerical minority at a ratio of 3:1.
Over the past year, the frontline has retreated by almost 160 kilometers and now stretches over 1200 kilometers from the northeast to the south. Russian troops are actively reconnoitering various sections of the front and delivering heavy blows where they notice weaknesses, as in the Sumy region last month.
'Their strategy is to exhaust us with their numbers,' said General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recently, Ukrainian troops have held the defense in the Kursk region, but after retreating, Russian troops launched an offensive in Sumy. The Ukrainian command is forced to fight on its own territory, redeploying elite units to protect vulnerable spots.
'Right now we are looking for ways to conduct attacks and push the enemy back,' noted Timur, commander of the 'Timur' special unit of the GUR that has been fighting in the region for several weeks.
Russian troops have concentrated around Sumy and posed a significant challenge to Ukraine, threatening serious dangers to Ukrainian forces. In an attempt to repel the enemy, Ukrainian forces are forced to make difficult decisions and take active measures to ensure the safety of the region.
Ukrainian troops are under serious pressure due to the approach of Russian troops to the city of Sumy, forcing the command to take more meticulous actions to control the situation and ensure the safety of the region.
