Use of ammunition with dangerous chemical compounds by the Russian Federation
In July, 358 cases of using ammunition with dangerous chemical compounds were recorded by the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Command of Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
«Russia continues its aggression and grossly violates the rules of war, ignoring norms and commitments under the Convention on the Prohibition of Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction», the statement said.
Russian military uses hand gas grenades of types K-51 and RG-VO, which are prohibited for use as warfare agents.
«Only in July, 358 cases of enemy using ammunition with dangerous chemical compounds were recorded and documented. In total, from February 15, 2023, to July 24 of this year, 3570 cases of the enemy using ammunition containing dangerous chemical substances were recorded», noted the Command of Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It should be reminded that Russian occupiers use prohibited chemical weapons, particularly chloropicrin, in battles along the entire front line in Ukraine. In this way, they try to weaken the ability of Ukrainian troops to defend fortified positions and even force them to retreat.
