Seven individuals have been sentenced for threatening the director of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics.

A court in Paris has issued verdicts against individuals who threatened the director of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The court sentenced seven individuals to conditional terms and fines for cyberbullying the director, Tom Jolly. Some received conditional imprisonment, and each must also pay one euro in compensation for moral damages.
“Many feel a sense of impunity when they send offensive messages in a fit of emotion. We know this can escalate to physical attacks,” said the prosecutor.
In addition, two individuals had their social media accounts blocked. The court also demanded conditional terms for all accused ranging from 3 to 8 months. The opening ceremony of the Olympics took place on July 26, 2024.
Update on the 2028 Olympic Games program
At the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, athletes will need to prepare for changes. Women will surpass the number of male athletes at the Olympics for the first Time, and six new mixed disciplines will be introduced in the program.
The IOC has decided that women will receive 5,333 places, while men will receive 5,167. In some sports, such as football and water polo, there will be more teams and additional weight categories. The program will also include new events for coastal rowing and sport climbing.
The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles is expected to be the most diverse and exciting for viewers and participants.
