It's not about the money: the main reason Ukrainians are leaving Poland.

According to the Gremi Personal Analytical Center, the number of Ukrainians planning to stay in Poland permanently has decreased from 19% to 13.2% compared to the previous year. This data was collected from a survey among migrants in seven major cities in Poland in May-June 2025.
More than half of the respondents (45.3%) expressed doubts about their long-term stay in Poland, which is an increase compared to the previous year.
The Chief Operating Officer of Gremi Personal, Damian Guzman, shared his opinion: 'Even considering the facts of integration - employment, housing, children's education - many Ukrainians do not feel part of Polish society.'
It has been found that social aspects, rather than everyday difficulties, are the main reason for the alienation of Ukrainians from Polish society. More detailed information and respondents' statements can be found in the conducted study.
Return of Ukrainians Home
According to the survey results, 17.9% of Ukrainians in Poland expressed a desire to return home if safety is ensured. Another 10.4% plan to stay in Poland temporarily, while 13.2% are willing to stay permanently, but only on the condition of stability.
A resident of Lviv, Yevheniya Hoiura, explained her motivations: 'For me, it is important to have confidence in the future and the ability to be close to my loved ones.'
Experts see this study as a signal for both countries to reconsider policies and take measures to ensure stability and mutual understanding between nations.
The study indicates that the decrease in the number of Ukrainians planning to stay in Poland reveals an increase in doubts about long-term residence in another country. This may indicate a need for careful analysis and measures to improve living conditions and the integration of Ukrainians into Polish society, as well as the importance of stability and security as factors influencing migrants' decisions about their future.
