Subsidies for electricity payment during power outages: new conditions.

The government has approved changes to the legislation that will allow Ukrainian families to maintain subsidies and benefits for utilities for electricity, even if the family consumed less due to disconnections.
Main changes include:
- Unchanged subsidy amount. During martial law, if a family consumed less electricity due to disconnections, the subsidy or benefit for utilities will remain at the previous level;
- Increased purchase limit. The maximum purchase amount that limits the allocation of subsidies has been increased from 50 to 100 thousand UAH;
- New rules for purchasing generators. Expenses for buying a generator or a one-Time payment for a loan to buy it up to 150 thousand UAH will not be taken into account when calculating subsidies.
It is worth noting that from mid-January 2025, a subsidy program for rented housing will start for internally displaced persons. This option will be available to families that spend more than 30% of their total income on rent.
In Ukraine, residents of several regions will be able to use gas for free under an experimental government project. Previously, liquefied gas in cylinders was provided as humanitarian aid to vulnerable population groups living in the front-line territories of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk regions.
The Cabinet of Ministers has also launched an experimental project for a unified platform for housing and communal services. Users will have an electronic cabinet where they can get all the information about property managers, service providers, prices, and tariffs, the results of considering their appeals, and also can conclude or terminate contracts online.
