Judge Marina Barsuk spoke about the update of communication between courts and media.

The judge called for normalizing the rules for access to court hearings
Speaker of the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal Marina Barsuk called for the judicial system to normalize the rules for journalists and the public's access to court hearings and information. According to her, such a step will make the courts more open and understandable for society. The publication 'Courts understandable for society' published this information.
Barsuk emphasized the importance of abandoning the image of a 'closed institution' in favor of transparent and professional communication with the media and citizens. The development of the Principles of Communication between courts and media is one of the steps towards establishing new standards for access to court hearings and working with information.
“We are not afraid of dialogue with media and representatives of the public. On the contrary – we are reaching out to them. Because trust is built by all parties”
The project of the Principles is being developed in partnership with various courts, international experts, and civic organizations. Its discussion has already received support from key institutions such as the High Council of Justice, the Council of Judges of Ukraine, and the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Freedom of Speech.
Ensuring accessibility of the judicial system
In today's world, it is important for the judicial system to be open and accessible to society. The initiative to improve communication between courts, media, and the public can contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and increasing trust in judicial bodies.
