During excavations in Sefertepe, archaeologists discovered two valuable beads with images of people and animals. Excavations in this region have been ongoing since 2021 and continue to yield interesting finds. According to Associate Professor of Istanbul University Emre Güldogan, this year they found beads in the shape of a leopard, a human, and a vulture for the first Time. According to him, these two finds are important for demonstrating Sefertepe's connections with other settlements. Emre Güldogan also noted that these beads are approximately 10 thousand years old.
The scientist emphasized that jewelry was used by ancient people as accessories similar to modern necklaces and bracelets. He pointed out that these beads might have had different purposes in various activities. Archaeologists in Turkey also found rare seals with images of animals in the mound of Arslantepe, about 7 thousand years old.
