Ukraine received a billion dollar tranche from Japan and Great Britain: where will the money go.


Ukraine received 1 billion dollars in assistance from Japan and Great Britain
Ukraine received another important contribution of international financial aid. According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the country attracted 1 billion dollars from Japan and Great Britain under the World Bank DPL program.
This financial support program serves to implement state policy and institutional reforms.
The funding consists of 567 million US dollars under the guarantees of the Japanese government as part of the Target Fund for providing Ukraine with necessary credit support (ADVANCE Ukraine) and 483 million dollars under the guarantees of the British government.
According to the head of government, the received financial resources will be used to strengthen the Ukrainian economy, as well as to ensure priority expenditures in the social and humanitarian sectors.
IMF transferred a billion tranche to Ukraine under the EFF program
Earlier, the IMF transferred a billion tranche to Ukraine under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, which was approved by the IMF on March 31, 2023.
The EFF program is designed to support Ukraine's economic stability in times of war.
