Goods exports from Ukraine decreased in January this year, reported the State Statistics Service.
'In January 2025, goods exports amounted to 3179.7 million USD, or 88.5% compared to January 2024, imports - 5514.8 million USD, or 108.2%. The negative balance was 2335.1 million USD (in January 2024, there was also a negative balance - 1500.4 million USD)', - reported the State Statistics Service.
In the first month of the year, the negative balance amounted to 2.33 billion USD, which is a decrease compared to January last year (1.5 billion USD), and the coverage ratio of exports to imports was 0.58 (in January 2024 - 0.71).
Electrical machines showed the highest growth in exports (+13.1%). On the other hand, exports of ferrous metals fell by 20.2%, grain crops by 17.4%, and fats and oils by 8.5%.
Ukraine conducts foreign trade operations with 189 countries of the world.
'In January 2025, compared to December 2024, seasonally adjusted export volumes decreased by 4.7%, imports increased by 3.4%. The seasonally adjusted balance of foreign trade in January 2025 was negative and amounted to 3099.0 million USD. In December 2024, it was also negative - 2739.7 million USD', - reported the State Statistics Service.
