Ukraine First Used AI Drones Against Russia - Forbes.

Ukrainian Startup Successfully Completed Autonomous Missions with Strike FPV Drones for the First Time
Strategy Force Solutions (StratForce) announced the successful completion of its first autonomous missions with FPV strike drones using their mother drones against Russian targets. According to Forbes, this is a significant breakthrough in the application of artificial intelligence in combat conditions, reports 'Glavkom'.
“A mission costing $10,000 replaces what previously required missile systems costing between $3 to 5 million,” quotes Forbes Chief Technology Officer of StratForce, Andriy.
The startup uses two FPV strike drones launched from the mother ship GOGOL-M, capable of attacking targets up to 300 km away. This opens up opportunities to impact vulnerable objects, such as parked airplanes.
Effective SmartPilot System
An important product of the company is the SmartPilot system, which combines advanced sensors and artificial intelligence. This system, designed for automated infrastructure inspection, allows for high-precision autonomous missions.
“In a sense, this is similar to a self-driving car,” explains Andriy. “For the autopilot to work properly, it needs a lot of cameras. There aren't many obstacles in the air, but we're making the system lightweight. That's how we got our system of cameras, LIDAR, and communication, allowing artificial intelligence to navigate, coordinate actions, and maneuver around obstacles.”
SmartPilot can perform various missions, including real-time target searching and attacking. This system opens up new opportunities for protection against hostile threats.
Analysis
StratForce demonstrated impressive technologies in the field of unmanned drones that could significantly impact combat operations in the future. The use of artificial intelligence in such systems opens new prospects for the Ukrainian army and provides an advantage in modern conflicts.
