Usyk plans to continue his career after defeating Fury
Oleksandr Usyk, who is the world champion under the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO versions in the heavyweight division, has decided not to stop and continue his career after defeating the British Tyson Fury. This news was announced during a press conference.
“Am I hungry for victories? Yes, I have an incredible thirst for winning. I plan to box further, train, and please myself, my team, and loved ones,” Usyk stated.
The boxer also noted that after the fight with Fury, he intends to rest.
“Now I want to go home, turn off the phone, and just relax. I want to shut myself in at home, play with my children, and watch a tree grow. I just want to rest and forget about boxing, Dubois, and Fury,” Usyk added.
It is worth reminding that Oleksandr Usyk once again defeated Tyson Fury and defended his titles as the absolute world champion. The fight lasted 12 rounds and ended with Usyk's victory by a unanimous decision of the judges – 116:112. Thus, Usyk confirmed his status as the absolute world champion in the heavyweight division, defending the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles.
Additionally, the boxer noted that he dedicated this victory to his mother, Nadiya Petriivna, who has supported him for many years. He also paid tribute to all mothers in Ukraine. This was his seventh fight in the heavyweight division and his fourth successful defense of his world champion title.
Additionally, Fury again criticized the judges who voted for Usyk's victory.
