The Ministry of Economy revealed the strategy for reducing the gender pay gap.


Ukraine intends to reduce the wage gap between women and men to 13.6% by 2030, down from the current level of 18.6%. This was announced by Tatiana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine. She emphasized that the issue of wage gaps is relevant for all countries of the world. The national strategy to overcome the gender pay gap by 2030 has already been approved in Ukraine with the aim of achieving the average level of EU countries. The government is also developing a comprehensive set of measures to achieve this goal.
To promote women’s entrepreneurship, the government of Ukraine has already introduced grant programs, particularly for veterans, spouses of veterans, and fallen defenders. Moreover, there are also programs that facilitate employment, training, and retraining that help women acquire new professions or enhance their qualifications. About 72% of participants in these programs have already gained new skills or improved their knowledge.
