Law prohibiting the Moscow church. Onufriy is taking the authorities to court: trying to buy time.

The Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC MP has decided to go to court with a lawsuit against the government to cancel its resolution on studying the affiliation of churches. The court process has already started in Kyiv, where clergy are trying to convince the court of the illegality of this decision.
The court process and the resistance of Metropolitan Onufriy
This case is being heard by judge Aliona Kushnova of the Kyiv District Administrative Court. In the past, she has already rejected the church's lawsuit due to its connection with the Russian Orthodox Church. Now the clergy will have to convince the court of their own correctness and the priority of canceling the resolution.
“The logic of the plaintiff's actions seems strange, very reminiscent of spam. Perhaps, thanks to these identical applications for securing the lawsuit, the clerics need to create a certain court history to use it later,” suggested a source from the State Service for Ethnopolitics.

In addition to the lawsuit against the government, the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC MP also submitted three applications to cancel the resolution to the State Service for Ethnopolitics. They demand a halt to research regarding their affiliation, and so far two applications have been rejected, while the third is under consideration.
According to sources from the executive branch, conclusions regarding the affiliation of the UOC MP with the Russian Orthodox Church are expected by the end of June, after the research is completed.
Representatives of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC MP are actively defending their position and trying to stop the research regarding church affiliation. The court process is ongoing, and a verdict may be issued by the end of June.Read also
