Zelensky signed the ratification of the agreement on the tribunal: when will Russia feel responsibility.


The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed documents for the ratification of the agreement on the establishment of a Special Tribunal regarding the crime of aggression by Russia against Ukraine on July 1. The head of state announced this on social networks.
The agreement was signed between Ukraine and the Council of Europe and now requires prompt ratification to begin the actual process of establishing the tribunal.
The President urged for the necessary legislative changes to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada as soon as possible. 'So that everything on our side is ensured one hundred percent for the full implementation of the agreement on the establishment of the tribunal,' Zelensky noted.
The process of creating the tribunal and launching the institution
Zelensky appealed to the members of parliament to consider this issue urgently. The president also expects a quick presentation by the teams from Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office regarding a working schedule with partners for the implementation of the agreement and the actual launch of the institution.
'This year, Russia must feel that their responsibility for the crime of aggression is inevitable and that the international legal process for holding Russia accountable has actually started,' Zelensky emphasized.
The President called aggression a crime and noted that truly unavoidable punishment of Russia for this crime is a global interest for all in the world who want a peaceful life for their people.
