The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire if Russia does the same. He noted that the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, suggested by the United States, has not received a response from Russia for 39 days.
'If Russia is suddenly ready to actually join the format of complete and unconditional silence, Ukraine will act reciprocally – as will be on the Russian side. Silence in response to silence, strikes in defense against strikes,' Zelensky emphasized.
The President suggested continuing the silence regime after the Easter holiday if the ceasefire is adhered to. He stressed that 30 days could give peace a chance.
'Therefore, there is no trust in words from Moscow. We know too well how Moscow manipulates and are always ready for anything. The Ukrainian Defense Forces will act rationally, responding reciprocally. There will be a sufficient response to every Russian strike,' the head of state emphasized.
Zelensky also reported that he expects a detailed report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi regarding the situation in specific directions after his communication with brigade commanders and other units at the forefront.
