The field during a combat mission in Donetsk. Remembering Serhiy Voznyi.

Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we will remember Serhiy Voznyi.
48-year-old soldier Serhiy Voznyi, with the pseudonym Kunytsia, was killed on May 3, 2023, near the village of Yampil in Donetsk. He received a fatal injury while performing a combat mission. Serhiy was born on February 15, 1975, in the village of Varvarivka in Poltava region, graduated from school and had a passion for weightlifting since he was 14.
In civilian life, he worked in a school and decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the war to protect his home and family. During his service in the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, Serhiy held the position of a gunner.
“Serhiy was everything to us. For me, as a wife, and for the children, it’s still hard to believe he will not come home. The fact that we are now without him is hard to accept. Comrades remember him as a person with whom it was not scary to go on missions. They knew that with him they would return alive. According to the words of the guys, Serhiy saved many lives and they are grateful to him for that. We really miss him,” said the wife of the fallen defender, Oksana.
Serhiy Voznyi was buried in his native village. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the medal 'For a Strong Spirit'. A section of weightlifting in the Martinivska community where he lived was also named in his honor.
